Fewer people.
Real people.
Here's exactly what it's like inside, and exactly how the deposit works, before you commit a dollar.
Why it costs money on purpose
Mainstream apps are free, so they're full of people who cost you time: bots, validation seekers who never message, and ghosts. The $100 refundable deposit flips the incentive: everyone you see paid to be here, passed a government-ID check, and gets their money back only by showing up and engaging. Small pool, real people, no ghosts.
What Discover looks like
Every card is a verified human: ID checked, selfie matched, height on the ID. Dealbreakers are stated up front so nobody wastes an evening finding them out.

What a conversation looks like
Messages are classified for substance: one-word filler doesn't count. When a first conversation reaches 6+ real messages from both sides, each person gets $20 of their deposit back, automatically.
The deposit, working both ways
Two (illustrative) members, same $100 deposit, opposite behavior. The schedule below is the real one the app enforces.
Maya earned it all back
- Week 1 First real conversation (6+ substantive messages both ways) +$20
- Week 3 First confirmed meet (both tapped 'we met') +$20
- Day 30 30 days of clean standing +$20
- Day 60 30 more clean days +$20
- Day 74 Matched exclusively: both confirmed, accounts paused +$20
$100 of $100 returned
Derek forfeited $80
- Week 1 First conversation completed +$20
- Week 2 Ghosted mid-conversation · flag upheld by peer jury: 30-day clean clock reset $0
- Week 5 Ghosted again after proposing a meet · second flag upheld, clock reset again $0
- Week 7 Hostile messages when called out · harassment flag upheld 3-0: account terminated -$80
$20 of $100 returned · banned permanently
That $80 didn't vanish into our pocket for fun: forfeiture is what makes "nobody here ghosts" a promise instead of a slogan.
Who decides? Your peers do.
Flags are judged by a jury of long-standing members who see only redacted evidence: no names, no photos, no contact info. Majority rules, and verdicts are final after a 14-day in-app appeal window.
Case: Ghosting minor · flagger staked 5 credits
🤖 AI triage: Category: ghosting. 9 in-thread messages (7 substantive). Thread shows a proposed meet accepted by both parties, then no reply from the flagged member for 11 days despite two follow-ups.
⚖️ Upheld 2-1. Flagger's 5 staked credits refunded + reward. Flagged member's 30-day clean-standing clock reset.
What joining takes
- 📝 Apply → Real name, real photos, real prompts. Your stated height, age, and name are checked against your ID later, so honesty is structural.
- 🪪 Verify → Government ID + live selfie, matched to each other and to your photos. Roughly 5-10% don't pass. That's the point.
- 💰 Commit → Place the refundable deposit. It isn't a fee, it's collateral: engage like an adult and every dollar comes back.
- ❤️ Match → A small, curated set of verified people. Reply within 72 hours, converse for real, then meet or politely decline.
Founding members: the $100 signup fee is waived; you place only the $100 refundable deposit.
